Ribal Al-Assad debates the future of Syria with Ali Veshi on Al Jazeera America

ODFS Director Ribal Al-Assad today appeared on Al Jazeera, where he called for support for an international conference that will bring together the Syrian government and opposition groups to debate Syria’s future. He called for democratic change in Syria, albeit without Islamist parties, which he insists don’t subscribe to values of freedom and equality. In the interview, he also shares what it’s like to be an exiled opponent of his first cousin, Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad.
