Ribal Al-Assad discusses the prospects of democratic reform in Syria with the Cornerstone Group of Conservative MPs

Ribal Al-Assad, the Director of the ODFS, was invited this week as a guest to the monthly dinner of the Cornerstone Group of Conservative MPs in Parliament. Over 30 MPs attended the dinner. Ribal met with many of them and had wide ranging discussions about Syria and the Middle East.

Commenting on the dinner, Ribal, said:

"It was a pleasure to attend the Cornerstone dinner and to meet so many distinguished MPs. I had excellent discussions with them on the prospects for democratic reform in Syria and the need to tackle extremism. I look forward to working with them on these issues in the future."

The MPs attending included, Desmond Swayne, Peter Lilley, Edward Leigh, Brian Binley, David TC Davies, Julian Brazier, Nadine Dorries, Steven Baker, John Redwood, Bob Stewart, Paul Uppal, Julian Lewis, David Nuttall, James Gray, Mark Reckless, David Morris, Stewart Jackson, Henry Smith, Fiona Bruce, Bernard Jenkin, Peter Bone, Mark Pritchard, Andrew Turner, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, Nigel Adams, Neil Carmichael, Stephen Mosley, Kwasi Kwarteng, David Amess, Edward Garnier, William Cash and Lord Forsyth.
